Halloween Porch
by Jeanne Jachna

2You’re here so I know you love to craft.  Sometimes I’m not feeling so inspired.  When that happens I usually tell myself it’s time to take a break.   There are other times when everything I see makes me want to get crafty.

I think it’s important to support the craft community whether it’s buying from small business owners or playing along with challenges I find on line.  It’s a great way to find inspiration, see what other people are making and maybe find a few friends too.  I love the photo at Fusion Card Challenge this time and found myself recreating the fall porch scene with die cuts.

The background really defines the look of the porch. I die cut a panel of  light blue card stock with the Leafy Wreath Collage.   To replicate the look of the siding on the wall I scored lines across the panel every 1/4″.  I attached some packing tape to the back of the panel and inserted colorful cardstock leaves inside the sticky openings in the front for a smooth finish.  I inked the edges of the panel to help define the lines in the panel and create shadow.

The wood flooring was created using the Seaside Dock die.  I attached several die cut panels together on their reverse side, brushed them with distress ink and then cut the panel to fit my card front.

I added loads of dies (you can find a complete list below).  The Happy Halloween Signs create my sentiment.

Dark Stitched Batty Collage bats swoop around the Garden Lantern light.

Whittle Ghosts with rosy cheeks are moaning in the wind and  of course there’s a Harvest Pumpkin embellished with Stitched Pumpkin Leaves on the porch too.

A Formal Candle die cut is placed inside the Garden Lantern with Circle Basics die cuts providing a glow.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope my card inspires you to make too!
