Happy Day

Welcome to fall! I’m excited to share this shadow box scene with a few of the cutest new dies for this season! I used the adorable 2786 Nordic Waving Fox, 2787 Pumpkin Patch, 2794 Trimmed Trees and 2768 Happy Birthday Tender Script dies. It was a lot of fun creating a pumpkin patch scene with them. This project can be a card (adhered to the back of the shadow box) or a decor item at home.

Let’s take a closer look at the Nordic Waving Fox. She’s so cute dressed up in her fall dress, holding up a little pumpkin she just picked from the patch. It is so easy to work with these layering dies that remove the need to handle tiny pieces like the eyes, ears and nose. There are full-sized layering pieces (meaning that they are the same size as the layer they go under) to adhere behind the face to add those pieces with ease. Even the feet are layered behind the legs for ease of assembly!

Here is a yet tighter photo of the layering pieces and how perfectly they line up. Also notice the facial features I mentioned and how they layer behind the face. The nordic style dies usually have the eyelet-look layers like her dress has here. You can see the darker green layer through the little apron-like light green layer. The ears have a full-sized layered piece to fill in the inner ear. Every detail has been thought out carefully for ease of use.

Here’s a shot of the cute pumpkins that come in many sizes and shapes. They also have a die with different shaped stems for variety!

Here’s a side view of the products I used and how I fit them into the shadow box I made for this scene. (I looked up shadow box tutorials on Pinterest and used a square one here.) Don’t these dies go well together with regards to size and proportion? I popped-up some of the pumpkins on foam tape for dimension from the trees. I also used the Happy Birthday sentiment dies and snipped the “birth” apart from “day” to make my own custom sentiment, happy day. Also, I ink blended distress inks on the background piece in yellows and oranges to go with the fall feel. One last suggestion: this project does not fold flat so if you were to mail it. you would need a box to protect it.
