Best Friends

Hello Friends! Today, I’m excited to share an adorable friendship card featuring the Nordic Waving Fox and Nordic Acorn Squirrel from the new Holiday Cheer release. These sweet friends make the perfect pair, so I created a cozy autumn scene. Be sure to read all the way to the end—I have a surprise bonus card waiting for you!
For my background, I kept it simple. I die cut patterned paper from the Memory Box Nutmeg Forest pad using the largest Fine Eyelet Frames die. I think the soft pattern adds just enough texture and allows the fox and squirrel to shine.
I assembled Nordic Waving Fox and colored her with Distress Oxide inks. I used the reverse side of the piece of background patterned paper for her dress, tying everything together. Also, I love the bonus die (a tail), so you can transform her into a cat! If you’re new to Poppystamps, the assembly guide on the back of the packaging is very helpful.
The sweet Nordic Acorn Squirrel is just as easy to assemble. To coordinate with the sweet fox, I dressed him with the same patterned paper as the fox, making these friends match perfectly.
To create a cozy, autumn scene, I added several pumpkins across the bottom of the card. I used the Pumpkin Patch dies and colored them Distress Oxide inks to create a variety of fall colors.
To finish my design, I have the fox handing her squirrel friend an acorn—I think this tells the sweet story of their friendship. My sentiment is an Open Studio tab from Memory Box. These tabs make it so easy to finish any card.
As a special bonus, I created a Christmas version of my card featuring the adorable squirrel is presenting the fox with a Christmas gift. For the background I used the Nordic Snowflake Border, paired with the new Merry Christmas Fluffy Script sentiment.
