Delightful Daisy
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everyone!

Our blog blitz is rolling on with even more great ideas and inspiration, and a chance to win too! Today I am sharing a card I created with the pretty Delightful Daisy! It’s a sweet and simple CAS salute to spring! Take a look!

This card was so easy to make (and quick too) that it completely slipped my mind to take a few photos of the creative steps! Ooops!  I cut out the Delightful Daisy in green, white, and yellow, the Little Rabbits, and the Stitched Fluttering Butterflies, glued them in place and it was finished, quick like a bunny! So today, I am going to share a little tip to add dimension to your beautiful CAS die cut cards.

This tip works especially well with flowers, leaves, and butterflies! When gluing your cuts on to your card base, leave a few areas of the cut “unglued.” With the daisy, I glued down the center, but left the petals unglued, then carefully manipulated the paper  to curl the petals up a little, creating dimension and shadow. You could also try a double curl, where you bend the petals up at the center of the flower, then curl them down at the end with a pencil. This is a great effect on flowers like poinsettias or succulent petals, to make the cuts looks puffy. Paper is a wonderful media to manipulate with just simple simple bends and twists.

To add dimension to butterflies, bend them lengthwise in half and just glue a little bit in the center. You can create a swoosh of butterflies, for example, and bend the wings in different positions to look like they are fluttering. I think I’ll try that in my next card!

I can’t wait to see all your fresh new ideas with Poppystamps new spring collection! Since it IS a blog blitz, let’s get to the blog candy! You could win the Delightful Daisy die just by leaving a comment on today’s post! Enter every day for every die you would like to win! Best of luck!

Thanks so much for joining us today!
