Just Saying Hello.
by Pam Simpson
Hello everyone, my favourite flowers are Poppies! red or any colour, love the delicate petals on these flowers..I have tried to capture this on these petals..using Poppystamps “Blooming Poppy die“

Hope you do not think these Poppies look messy!! lol.. to me that`s how our Poppies look in the UK..
I normally use a crepe paper. you have to be careful as this is not colour fast with water..
OK this is the product I have used..had in my stash for years..Good old Coffee Filters!!! bet your thinking I`ve gone mad!!! here is how..

Leave the coffee filters as they are double, ink with a blending tool, I used distress “fired brick” ink both side.

Spray with plenty of water and dry with a heat tool.. Next cut out just the petals from Poppystamps. Blooming Poppy die.

This is how I add shape.. moulding mat and ball tool..I separated the two of each from the coffee filter..top are ones as they have been cut..bottom petals have been shaped, it is a strong paper even when wet..

One set of petals on the left..right side flower made ..I dipped just the centre of the petal in the glue.. adhered as shown..before you add the last bottom petal, glue the black stamen in.
I also added some glossy accents to the back, gave more stability to the flower.

Close up of Blooming Poppies on dark green stems.. Gental Leaf Collage for the background, shaded with distress ink Tumbled Glass, dot of green are from Poppystamps New “Studio Blotter” CL449 clear stamps, infilled with “Heart Screen” die cuts.
Just Saying from “Sentiment Of Hello” CL451 stamps with “Little Luxe Hello” die cut in white card shadowed with green card.

Hope you like my take on Poppy flowers..
Thank you for stopping by Pam x..

Beautiful card I’m going to try this technique today
Hi Pam, I love everything you have used on this card, your poppies are magnificent, who would have thought to use coffee filters, genius. Absolutely gorgeous !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Beautiful card! Pam, your Poppies look very realistic. We have these type of Poppies in Canada too, I think of them as Flanders poppies. I use coffee filters too to make flowers, they can also be embossed with and embossing folder. I like the cone filters because they are thicker and I also use basket filters because they are thinner. They both will take wet colour beautifully.
Thank you for sharing this inspiring card today.
