Sending Sunshine and Smiles

Hello crafty friends!

Today I’m sharing a cheerful floral card featuring the beautiful Nordic-inspired dies from Poppystamps. I combined the Nordic Watering Can and Nordic Scatter Flowers dies to create a sweet garden-themed design full of color and texture. The bright blooms tucked into the decorative watering can bring a fresh and happy feel to this card.

Creating the Background

To build the background, I started with the Nordic Fancy Background Die cut from white cardstock. The intricate lacy design adds lots of delicate detail while keeping the card light and airy. Behind it, I layered a patterned paper from the Birthday Fun 6×6 Paper Pack, allowing the pattern to peek through the die-cut openings.

Adding Texture

For additional interest, I embossed a purple cardstock panel using a Spellbinders embossing folder. The subtle texture creates depth without competing with the detailed die-cut background. The soft purple shade also complements the flowers beautifully.

Building the Floral Arrangement

The focal point features the Nordic Watering Can Die filled with flowers created using the Nordic Scatter Flowers Die. I chose shades of purple and green to coordinate with the background while keeping the design bright and inviting. A touch of glitter cardstock on the watering can adds a little sparkle and catches the light nicely.

Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I added a simple sentiment from Altenew across the lower portion of the design. The clean sentiment strip balances the detailed die cuts and reinforces the cheerful theme of the card.

I love how the intricate white background, textured purple panel, and colorful floral arrangement work together to create a card that feels both elegant and uplifting.
