Nordic Bow Wreath | By Allison Frazier

Hello, Poppystamps friends! I am happy to be back up on the blog with this festive card featuring products from the new Nordic Winter Magic release. The inspiration for this whole card was the new Nordic Bow, which I absolutely love.
I started with the bow, of course! I cut the three layers from three different colors of red/pink card stock and glued them together. I used the same dark red card stock to cut the berries from the Nordic Holly Sprig set. And speaking of the Nordic Holly, I cut two branches of this holly from a blue-ish green card stock. I cut the smallest detail layer of the holly from the same color, and I cut the second layer from a teal blue card stock. I did not cut the full size layer pieces – I just used the base of the leaves to glue those other two pieces on. Before moving on to creating the wreath, I prepped my card base. I took an A2 panel of cream woodgrain card stock and ink blended it with Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide. I then added some random blending with Atlantis Ink from Pinkfresh Studio.

I knew that I wanted to build up the look of a wreath, but I didn’t want to just have the holly leaves. I wanted the look of other foliage in there. You may be surprised to hear what I used to create the base of the wreath. I used the wings from the Nordic Sweet Angel! I cut six sets of these wings from the teal blue card stock and glued them on the panel in the curved shape that I wanted. Obviously, this is a partial wreath shape. You can’t really see these wings very much, but if they weren’t there, the wreath would have a lot of holes in it. You can see some of the pieces here and there along the outside edges. I found some smaller foliage to add to the mix from the Handpicked Bouquet die set. I cut that from the darker green color (same one I used for the holly). Once I started glueing, I added the holly first and then these smaller pieces. I added a few more leaves of holly to fill in some empty spaces, and I think it turned out pretty good!

For the sentiment, I used the new Warm Wishes Cheerful Script. I just love the font in this die! I cut the shadow layer from cream card stock and the words from the teal blue card stock. I stacked two layers of words and two layers of shadows before glueing it to my card base.

To finish my card, I added the red berry dies to the wreath, along with a few pearl embellishments. I really love how this turned out, and I hope it brings a smile to your face today. Thanks so much for joining us on the blog!
