Best Birthday Ever
by Tricia Barber

Hello!  Tricia here today to share with you a birthday card made with the Basic Birthday Candles die and the Balloon Celebrations stamp and die set. I had so much fun creating these candles for a sparkly birthday card.  I started out die cutting the Basic Birthday Candle from pastel cardstock to match the paper pad called Birthday Fun.   I flipped through the paper pack and gathered some inspiration from the sherbert colors in this paper pad.   I ended up using a white with gold dots but I just loved the soft colors in this collection.

I added details to the candles with alcohol markers and a white gel pen.  I used a black marker to darken the candle wick to mimic a burning candle.  I die cut the candle flame using gold and gold glimmer cardstock.   I adhere the candles directly to a card base that I covered with the Birthday Fun white and gold paper.  I trimmed off the excess of the candles at the bottom of the cardstock.   I added some clear glitter over several of the candles for a little more sparkle.

I stamped a sentiment from the Balloon Celebrations stamp and die set.   I die cut this with a scalloped circle using the Scallop Pinpoint Rings die set. I layered the white circle with some foam adhesive.   Such a fun and happy birthday card for my stash!  I finished it off with another sentiment from the Balloon Celebrations set on the inside of the card.   I hope you have a wonderful crafty day!
