Sending Christmas Cheer
by Nancy Penir

Hi there and welcome to Poppystamps! My card for you features a new favorite Poppystamps die, Cottage Window. A timeless die set, it can be used any time of year. Thought I’d share a card I made into a Christmas window, already mailed and into it’s new home. Now, I love to creat scenes. I get an idea and look for a way to bring that idea to life!

Cottage Window has 4 main elements. I gave it a shadow by backing it with a darker card stock.

Through the window you can see the home’s Christmas tree. Here’s how I made the tree.

These trees are too small for what I was going for, so I simply created a larger image from all the small trees.

Here they are die cut from 2 green card stocks, one light green the other dark, and detached from the die cut base.

Once assembled, I added Nuvo drops to simulate ornaments. (I also added a bit of glitter too.)

Outside, is another grouping of florals, this time from the bottom of the Festive Noel die.

Once you have an idea for a card front, look through your dies and use what you need from them to create your  own design and scene.

Above all, have fun!

Merriest of Christmases and Have a wonderfully creative New Year! Cheers!

  2. This is so beautiful. I love how you pulled so many different elements together to create this card. Surely the recipient of this card has it on display in a prominent place!

  3. Hi Nancy, Wow !! I love this !! This is a magical ‘scene’, with a little ‘insight’ into the cosy room on the other side of the glass windows, it conjours up really lovely Christmassy thoughts.
I love how you created your ‘full’ christmas tree and baubles.
    Enjoy your Christmas Holidays.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
