Magical Fairy with Hidden Slider
by Jennifer Svare

Hello!  I hope everyone is enjoying the slider week so far!  I have really enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful and fun designs.  I’ve always loved sliders, but they have seemed intimidating to me, so I never tried one until now.  I’m so glad I did!  They are not at all as difficult as I had imagined.  Super easy and fun.  I used the Straight Slider Grooves craft dies to create the slider track.

The slider track on this card is hidden behind the front frame.  The ribbon on the right pulls the message tab out, moves the fairy, and also reveals colorful dots of “Show” along the way!

When closed, there are no colors, but as the fairy slides along, colorful dots of “snow” are revealed along the way.

The Wintertime Fairies set is so cute and has so many possibilities.  I can’t wait to incorporate more of these adorable designs perfect for sider cards!

Video for the slider card below shows how to incorporate the basic idea of this slider card mechanism into your dies and design ideas:

  3. Jennifer, your card is WONDERFUL!!!! In saying you “forgot a step,” I was referring to the little extra white fairy that you die-cut to go on the backside of the main fairy to make it more sturdy! Your card was EXCELLENTLY DONE!!!!!!!!!! Your making it a hidden slider, is a step above the normal slider card!!! 😉
