May Release Blog Blitz – Large Poised Faerie
by Jeanne Jeanne

2What a great day for a visit!  We’ve got a brand new May release to share and that means we’re having a blog blitz!  What’s a blog blitz?  Well that means we’ve blocked out dates to focus on the new release, sharing projects made specifically with the new products, and offering you a chance to win on every post. The blog blitz will run today,  May 10, through  May 21.
2My card was made with the new Large Poised Faerie!   And YES!  That is today’s prize!

I started by painting a watercolor background.  I recently purchased and empty tin pan and am filling it with some of my favorite tube colors.  These are my first liquid watercolors (Tubes vs. dry pans) and I’m really enjoying them!

This is the layout I decided on and where I decided to cut the wings.

I removed the wing die cuts, and added tape to the back side of the watercolor panel.

Then I cut the wings from white card stock and inserted them inside the die cut windows on my watercolor panel.
Next I sprinkled different colors of glitter inside the window opening and pressed it into the tape with my fingers.  Poppystamps owner and designer Dave Brethauer did a wonderful Glitter Inlay Technique You Tube video showing how here.
2The shiny glitter in the same colors as the watercolor panel give the wings the appearance that they are translucent – that you’re seeing the color through her glittery wings.
2The simple “Wish” sentiment is from the “Make A Wish” word die set.  I double cut the die layering white over gold glitter paper.

This card is a little larger than my usual A2.  The finished size is 4 7/8 x 6″.  That should give you an idea of how large the Poised Faerie die is.   She’s so beautiful!

Would you  like to win this die for yourself?

Let me fill you in on all the details ok?

The blog blitz runs from May 10- May 21, 2017. We’ll be giving away a prize on every post during this time.  To enter to win you need to leave a comment on EACH of the posts that you wish to enter.   To enter ALL the posts during the blog blitz you need to leave a comment on EACH ONE.   One person will be chosen at random from each of the posts during the blog blitz. Only one prize per person per blog blitz. We use random number generator to select winners from comments.
