Wirework Ornament
by Sue McRae

Hello crafters! Sue here with a clean and simple holiday card.

To start off my design I die cut two Pine Twigs from white card stock. I covered one twig with Versamark, sprinkled on green metallic embossing powder and heat set. I did the same for the second twig but used brass embossing powder and I over heated the embossing powder until it got all bubbly. This added a rough look to the twig instead of a smooth look like on the green one.

I die cut the Wirework Ornament and Retro Ornament from glitter card stock and also used the hanging part of the String Ornament die to attach the ornament to the twig.

I felt the background was a little plain so before assembling my card I randomly scored lines on the card stock from the back side so that the raised lines would be on the front of the card. I just made sure to leave myself enough space to stamp the sentiment.

This is a quick project to pull together and would be great for mass producing. Just changing the colour of the ornament would give you a totally different look.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Simple is so divine in the hands of a fabulous artist. Sue, this card is so elegant, and I love the bubbly copper branch. (I just looked at over-heating as a mistake, and now I can look at it as a clever way to add interest!) This really is absolutely stunning. Thank you for the pointers.

  2. Hi Sue, This may be a CAS card, but it is oh so effective !! I also love the colourway. I love, love, love, this card.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
