Art Deco Rose Delight

Hi everyone! Today I am showing you a new technique that I have not tried before, a vellum window shaker card! Instead of using plastic or acetate for the shaker window, I used a piece of pink blush vellum, and stamped the Memory Box sentiment right in the middle of the window. I then heat embossed it with a touch of Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. I finished the card in the usual shaker technique, adding my die cuts on the top panel.

I cut the Art Deco Roses out of a bright pink card stock, then cut the Art Deco Rose Blooms, which is the background companion piece to the Art Deco Roses, out of white card stock I sponged with inks.

I like to fill my shaker windows with a combination of sequins, a few micro beads, and a sprinkle of very fine glitter. Using the vellum for your panel allows you to stamp and emboss right on your window, but it does hide the color and variety of your sequin mix a little. I think this would be a unique effect for a winter scene shaker card too, with snowflakes falling outside the window. I think I'll give that a try next!
