Challenge Reminder: Add A Shaker
Hello Poppystamps friends! I am popping in to remind you about this month’s challenge! On the first of every month we announce the challenge, and you get most of the month to join us. Just link up your design with an online gallery like Flickr, Splitcoaststampers or Instagram. We select one card that we like best as the monthly winner and then randomly select one entry as the winner of a $20 gift card to the store.
For this month’s challenge, our theme is “Shake It Up.” Simply add a shaker element to your card, no matter how big or small!

For my card, I am featuring one of the adorable penguins from the new Penguin Party collection. This little guy is the Birthday Penguin. This large balloon from the Brilliant Birthday Balloons (released last year) was the perfect die to create my shaker opening. I simply cut the opening into a bright blue panel and glued acetate to the back. I then added foam tape all around the opening, as well as the rest of the panel. I added my shaker bits, which look like little cake sprinkles, pulled all the release tape off the foam, and added a white panel in back to close everything up. I then added the whole panel to a white card base which measures 4.75″ x 6.75″.

The sentiment comes from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set, and I love how it fills the space. Oh, and those adorable little balloons? Those are from the new Festive Balloons set. I love the little cutouts.

That’s it for my card today! I hope it brings a smile to your face. We can’t wait to see what you make for the challenge. You can click here to get the January Challenge post where you can add your challenge cards – just scroll to the end of the post!
