Snowy Little Village

Now that I live in the Deep South, there are times I miss waking up on a frosty morning and seeing a blanket of fresh snow, sparkling in the dim light. This little snowy village scene brings back not only childhood memories, but makes me feel like I could be visiting an old-world village in the mountains of Europe! There is something very special and magical about the Holiday Village cling stamp from Poppystamps.
To create this winter scene, I chose my favorite background paper from the Memory Box brioche collection. I stamped the Holiday Village on flat white cardstock in black ink, then heat embossed the design in clear powder. I colored the tiny trees and houses with copic markers, and gave them plenty of time to set and dry. Then I took a paintbrush and applied a smooth, even coat of glue over the entire cut rectangle, then covered it all with a shiny transparent glitter. My kitties STILL have sparkle in their fur!
I mounted my glittery square on top of a glittered blue paper cardstock, glued the pieces to the colorful plaid, then added fresh cut Pine Sprigs die cuts and a shiny Winterflake Corner. I topped it all off with three blue topaz blingy squares. The card was easy to make; cleaning up the glitter was the hardest part!

Live your life in color!

This is such a beautiful card – it does give me the feel of the winter season!
oh…sparkly. Very nice card. Sometimes I miss the early mornings of Wisconsin. And then, I remember driving on those frozen roads. Makes me love California more! Very nice use of your village stamp.
Once again, gorgeous card. I love how you use so many dies and a stamp in this card. This is truly a beautiful idea with the glitter and blue topaz embellishments. Makes we smile to see it and think of the snowy winters back home.
Oh how beautiful, love the glitter on the card. I like how you made it look like just a whisper of fresh fallen snow fell on this winter scene. Love the blue topaz idea too. Makes me miss the snowy winters back home.
Reminds me of winters in Montana. It brings me back, so very far back! :} Love the Holiday Village!!
