Challenge Reminder | by Lisa Elton

Hi there, it’s Lisa here today with a reminder post about our monthly challenge! December’s challenge is ‘Pockets Please’. Add a pocket to your project for a note, gift card or even cash like I’ve done! Our favorite project winner will receive our winner badge to proudly display on their blog and one lucky random winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to the shop. Let’s take a look at how I put my pocket tag together.

I created two mittens using plaid paper (Memory Box) and ivory cardstock. These were cut using the Nordic Large Mitten.

Next, I created two pocket tags with the largest Scallop Pinpoint Tag as the base. As you can see in this photo and the next, the tag cuts in two pieces. One tag and one border. The first one was embossed with the Nordic Motif Stencil. It’s faint, but pretty! The second (pictured above) was made with patterned paper from Memory Box.

Each of my tags was created by adhering two tags and their borders back to back. This photo shows the first step I took. I used a thin double sided tape on the edge of the border portion of the die set. Then I flipped it over and set the tag in.

I used ivory cardstock for the back tags so a message could be written on them. This was adhered to the front decorative tag with double sided tape.

Once I had the tags constructed, I began adding the festive decorations. The Nordic Bow die was cut from gold cardstock then popped onto the tags with foam adhesive tape.

Each tag had a mitten added along with a sentiment tab from our parent company, Memory Box. I added a little rectangle to the back of the mitten, adhered only on the ends, before gluing it to the tag. This gave me a place to slip the money in!

I think this version with the patterned paper is my favorite! I also like the creamy ivory mitten with just a touch of the plaid.

Do you have a favorite? This was a fun project to put together. I hope I’ve inspired you to join in our challenge this month. We would love to have you play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by during this busy time of year, we appreciate it!
