Winterflake Corner

Whenever I see Christmas decorations in bright white and vivid red, I immediately think of all the beautiful glass ornaments my grandmother had from her native homeland of Poland. The intricate Winterflake Corner die from Poppystamps can be used to make traditional cards with a European flair, or very artsy, modern, winter holiday designs.

This card was created with layers of red and white cardstock, and a few embellished pearls in the corner. Add your favorite snowflake, like the Giovanna Snowflake, and you can make your own holiday memories spring to life.

To win this beautiful Winterflake Corner die, simply leave a comment and tell us your favorite family holiday memory. You have until September 20th. Enjoy the last few days of our Poppystamps blog blitz, and

Live your life in color!

  25. This is such a gorgeous card. The colours are stunning. When you asked about memories the one that popped into my head was when my grandad, sadly no longer with us, put his nearly empty whisky glass on the floor next to his chair. When he reached down to finish it it was empty and my nephew, only 3, looked strangely pink cheeked and sleepy. One of my clearest memories of lovely family christmas’ when my grandad was still with us. Incidently my granmother was 90 this year and still going strong and my nephew, none the worse for his early sip of the water of life, has a son of his own. Isn’t it lovely how the family continues on…..

  26. When you mentioned Poland and family memories, I think of sharing the opaltek on Christmas Eve! Thanks for this pretty card!

  27. I love that snowflake corner!
Christmas memories – I shall always cherish the look on my daughter’s little face when she realised that Santa had been as there was a bite taken out of his mince pie and Rudolph had bitten into his carrot too! My daughter is 20 now and has gone to University, but I can’t wait for her to come back at Christmastime.
