Soaring into the Holidays with Nordic Noel
by Jennifer Harte

Hello Friends! Today, I’m sharing a trio of cards featuring products from the new Nordic Noel release, along with a few favorites from previous releases. I always try to get the most out of my supplies, so I hope these cards give you several ideas for creating with the new Nordic Soaring Dove!

Let’s start with the Nordic Soaring Dove. For all three cards today, I die cut the dove using white glitter paper from my stash for all my cards today, but I can also imagine creating it in different colors for a fun look in the future. I chose not to use the shadow piece for these cards.
The wings feature a beautiful filigree pattern. On one of my cards, I left the filigree portion open so the background shows through. For the other two cards, I used silver and gold to highlight the intricate design.

The new Satin Ribbon from the Nordic Noel release is absolutely stunning! There are eight dies that cut out 11 pieces, so if you have any questions about how they go together, simply check the back of the package for helpful guide. That said, I don’t think you can go too wrong—just assemble the pieces in whatever arrangement looks good to you!

The Nordic Fancy Bell is another beautiful addition to the Poppystamps collection of dies. For my card I used a combination of blue glitter and silver foil cardstock from my stash.

The final new product from the Nordic Noel release that I used today is the Scalloped Pinpoint Oval Frames set. They are certain to become a go-to product for future cards.

Now for the cards! For my first card, I started by ink blending several shades of blue distress oxide inks to mixed media paper and then spattering it will gold before die cutting two panels with my favorite Fine Eyelet frames.

To coordinate with the filigree portion of the doves wings, I added gold ink around the edges of the largest die-cut panel. For the card base I chose Blueberry Mist cardstock and finished it with an Open Studio sentiment tab.

For my second card, I placed an embossing pad over the Diamond Oval Pinpoint Background die with a panel of Powder Blue cardstock creating a beautiful embossed impression. This is an easy way to achieve two different looks with the same product. I love the textured look—similar to what you’d achieve with an embossing folder.

I paired the Nordic Soaring Dove with the Satin Ribbon and used part of the Merry Christmas Fluffy Script sentiment to complete my card.

For my third card, I used the second largest of the Scalloped Pinpoint Oval Frames to cut an oval of patterned paper from the Memory Box Poinsettia Garland 6×6 pad. I die cut a second oval with blue glitter cardstock from my stash to match the Nordic Fancy Bell.

Since I love the pattern on the Diamond Oval Pinpoint cover die, I “embossed” it on some pink cardstock from my stash. The pink coordinates beautifully with the poinsettias in the patterned paper and adds another layer of texture to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my trio of cards starring the new Nordic Soaring Dove! Both the Holiday Cheer and Nordic Noel releases have a wonderful selection of dies. Thank you so much for stopping by and don’t forget to share some handmade happiness of your own!
