Believe in the Magic
by Jeanne Jachna

I hope you're having a great weekend!  My favorite way to relax is with crafting.  When the dishes are put away and everyone is gone it's time to unwind.

The holidays are right around the corner and I've got my mind on cards to send to family and friends.   Last year I was loving pink for snowy skies.. I think I'm leaning more toward purples this year!

I created a distress background of  Milled Lavender and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.  I covered the entire panel in Milled Lavender and then went in around the edges with Seedless Preserves.  I splattered the panel with water, some watered down Seedless Preserves and some white ink.   Next I adhered the panel to my card base.

Next I die cut a white card stock panel with the Wooded Glen Landscape.  I ran it through my die cut machine a second time to cut out the Believe Fresh Script.  I adhered this white die cut panel to the distress ink panel.  To give it a finished look I added a die cut Pointed Rectangle Frame.

Now for the fun part.. embellishing!  I assembled a little Winter Cabin to add to the scene.  I added distress ink to the die cut to bring out the impression of the logs that the cabin is made of.

I stacked circles of different sizes in shades of yellow for a big full moon.. and of course.. Santa's Sleigh!   Can you imagine some children inside the cabin waiting for his arrival?   I hope they're being very good!

A peaceful snowy scene that ALMOST has me wishing for winter..  almost.  LOL!  Have a great weekend!

  1. Hi Jeanne, I’m loving the pink-purple sky, I had never thought to do a sky any other colour than blue, you have opened my eyes here, a gorgeous ‘scene’ and I’m loving the ‘splattering’, it is very effective.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
