Merry and Bright

Morning, y'all! It's Jinny here today, sharing a card, boasting a colorful winter background, created with Distress Inks.
I started this card by inking a piece of white cardstock, from bottom to top, with Spun Sugar, Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass, and Faded Jeans Distress Inks, blending each layer of color into the next. I then grounded the colors with die-cut, from more white cardstock, Stitched Hills. The "may your days be MERRY and BRIGHT" sentiment was white-embossed just above those hills, near the right edge of the prepped piece…
before creating the rest of the winter scene. The Trim Tree and Prancing Deer were die-cut from Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar cardstocks respectively; and one of the deer was dressed up with a simple, red, gemstone nose.
I then splattered everything with Titanium White acrylic paint and couldn't resist covering those snowy hills in glitter. Once everything was dry, I anchored the entire piece, to a white, cardstock, card face, with silver-threaded, straight, machine stitching and wrapped up its top edge with a length of Baker's Twine, tied in a bow.

Hi Jinny, This ‘scene’ card is beautiful, and I absolutely love how you have blended all the different colours to form the background, and I love the deer with the ‘Rudolph’ nose, and the snow finishes the card off beautifully.

A gorgeous winter scene card! Thank you for sharing the step by step for the fantastic background. I wouldn’t have thought of using spun sugar, very inspiring. Also thank you for sharing how you achieved your realistic snow, I will use that technique. The deer look like they are having fun playing in the snow.
