Holiday Thanks

Christmas time is here, the most wonderful time of the year! I guess I can stop singing that little tune now, right? For many of us, the lights and ornaments come down the very first weekend Christmas is over as we all head back to work and the normal routine again. But in many parts of the world, the "Christmas season" has only just begun!
An important part of the Christmas tradition in our house is to send a special Thank You to the people who did something special over the holidays, like Santa or Father Christmas! But I also try to remember other people too, like family members who opened both their guest rooms and clean towel cabinets over the holidays! Sending someone an unexpected Thank You card is a wonderful way to show your gratitude and brighten their day.

I chose traditional Christmas holiday colors to make this Holiday Thanks card perfect for sending seasonal thanks. I cut the Thank You Background out of a flat black background and adhered it to a red card stock piece on top of a white card stock base. I then cut the Thank You Background again in white and inserted the white letters into the card with a little adhesive and a pair of craft tweezers.

Using craft tweezers is my favorite "pro" tip I like to give to anyone when doing this kind of inlay work. The tweezers hold the teeny, tiny letters without squeezing pressure, while you can add tiny drops of glue and then carefully insert them into the spaces. It is an easy technique, and once you do it a few times, you'll be a pro!
What's great about this technique is that you can completely change the look and feel of the card just by using different colors, like black and white for Christmas, or blue and white for Hanukkah.
Once the letters are all adhered in place, you can decorate your Holiday Thanks card with just about anything – -hearts, stars, ribbons, bows, swirly doo dads! I used my favorite Poppystamps winter dies, like Andorra Corner in red, a few stacked Giovanna Snowflakes in white glitter, Christmas Baubles in glitter, and Pine Sprigs in shades of green.

THANK YOU to all our Poppystamps friends and family, old and new, who have been following our team of wonderful designers throughout the year! I get inspiration from my teammates every single day and I'm so proud to part of this colorful group. I'll see you all in 2015!
Live your life in color!
