Birthday Fun
by Lisa Elton

I needed a birthday card for a teenage boy. I think this fella in his groovy convertible works!

This all began with the car. It’s cut from mirror cardstock. Try as I might, I could not get the color of the car to photograph correctly. It’s actually more blue than teal! The grill, bumper and headlight rings are mirrored silver. I filled the lights with yellow Stickles! The windshield was cut from a scrap of plastic packaging. Isn’t this Fancy Party Penguin one cool dude in his bright orange driving glasses!

The road he’s driving on was made with our Black Glossy Paper. I used a ruler to get the yellow lines evenly spaced. I had some clouds behind the penguin to separate his little black head from the black road. My hubby suggested turning them the other way to make it look like exhaust! Ta-da… it worked! A festive birthday banner waving in the wind and he was good to… VROOM VROOM… go!!
