The new 2025 Nordic Winter Magic Release completely stole my heart, and today I’m sharing one of my favorite cards I’ve created with it so far, an adorable winter scene featuring the Nordic Skating Bear, the Nordic Swirl Tree, and that bold Merry Christmas Cheerful Script sentiment. This card has charm, movement, and a soft winter glow that feels cozy and playful at the same time.

Let’s dive into how this sweet little scene came together.

Creating the Card Background

For the background, I wanted something subtle but magical—wintery, without overpowering the focal images. I chose a soft lavender patterned paper with tiny snowflakes, which instantly set the stage.

The Scalloped Pinpoint Frames added a crisp, stitched border, giving the card dimension and a beautiful layered look. I mounted the entire panel onto a kraft card base for warmth and contrast.

Building the Skating Bear

The star of this card is the Nordic Skating Bear and he’s just too cute.

  • I die-cut him from white cardstock and added tiny blush details to his cheeks.
  • His sweater and boots were cut from coordinating teal and green tones to match the tree.
  • The sweater detail is beautifully Nordic, and layering the pieces adds the sweetest dimensional touch.
  • His little ice skates complete the story. I love the movement they create even on a static card.

He looks like he’s mid-spin, full of joy.

Nordic Swirl Tree Magic

The Nordic Swirl Tree is such a highlight in this release. I cut it from shades of blue and teal to complement the bear’s sweater. The swirling patterns in the tree give it such personality and texture.

Layering the tree behind the bear creates depth without overwhelming the scene, and the soft winter palette keeps everything cohesive.

Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I added the Merry Christmas Cheerful Script die-cut sentiment—my favorite kind of chunky, playful font. I cut it in white for crisp contrast and popped it up with foam for extra dimension.

A few tiny snowflake die cuts sprinkled in the background helped tie everything together and make the scene feel lively and festive.

This card was such a joy to make! The new Nordic Winter Magic release has a whimsical charm that’s perfect for holiday crafting, and every die in this card worked together seamlessly—from the sweet skating bear to the elegant Nordic tree and the stitched scalloped frame.
