A Cozy Autumn Home
by Jennifer Harte

I love Autumn. It’s a beautiful time of year, so I decided to make two cards as the season is winding down.

I chose the Winter Porch Pop Up Easel set for my cards. I’ve never made an easel card and was a bit intimidated at first, but this was very easy to assemble and it folds flat to fit perfectly in an A2 envelope.

This die set is so versatile, because as you can see, I created a card with an autumn twist. Plus, if you don’t want to make an easel card, you can just use the porch on an A2 card front.

To begin, I die cut the easel base using heavyweight cardstock for stability. Then I cut the background  piece for the house and all the parts. The die creates score lines for you so you know where to fold it. I used double-sided tape (for a bit more strength) to adhere the background panel with the house to the easel base.

I couldn’t resist adding lots of leaves not only to the house, but also created a front yard full of leaves on the easel base! I used the smaller individual leaves from the Nordic Oak and Maple Leaves dies for the ones on the house and to make the wreath. I mixed in some of the larger leaves for the “yard.” The easel will stand up on its own, or you can add something (like I did with the leaves) to help prop it up.

The front door opens and you can see that in my second card. I added the adorable Long Dachshund from the Dog Days of Summer release inside the front door to greet the guests! For both cards, I chose the “Thankful For You” sentiment from Poppystamps.

I hope my cards inspire you to visit the Poppystamps online store and explore the different easel cards they have and all the other fabulous products. Don’t forget to share some handmade happiness of your own this season!
