Hello Spring
by Allison Frazier

Hello, Poppystamps friends! I am excited to be back on the blog today sharing some fun new products from the Nordic Spring Release! As obsessed as I am with all of the adorable bunnies in this release, I had to play with one of the adorable frogs, as well. This card features the Lily Pad Frog, along with the Hello Spring die from the release. I also used some of the new Memory Box 8.5 x 11 card stock in some of my favorite colors.

I started my card with the beautiful Deep Turquoise card stock as the base. I also took a piece of the same color and embossed it with the Cortina Pinpoint Plate. I love dry embossing with dies because it really stretches the use and look of your dies. If I had die cut it, the little circles in the design would have popped out. Dry embossing gives more of a quilted look. Next, I created my frog using Key Lime and Leaf Sprout card stock. Isn’t he adorable? I placed him on a pink lily pad.

For the word die, I kept things simple and just stacked two layers of white card stock. There is a tiny flower that you can use as the dot on the “i”, but I chose to use a tiny heart that popped out of one of the flowers from the new Heart Flowers die set. I was originally going to use the Heart Flowers for this card, but then I decided to use the Nordic Flower Bunch set. Poppystamps has so many amazing floral sets, so honestly it was hard to choose! I cut the Nordic Flowers from white, two shades of yellow, and two shades of pink card stock, and then I just mixed and matched the different pieces. There are so many ways to combine these flowers. To assemble the card, I glued everything down to the card panel with liquid glue.

That is it for my card today. I hope it brings a smile to your face. Thanks so much for joining us today.

  1. Hi Allison, I love this embossing folder you used for the background, and the die-cuts are so very pretty and your composition is beautiful.
