Nordic Butterfly
by Allison Frazier

Hello, Poppystamps friends! I am excited to be back on the blog today sharing this beautiful card featuring the Nordic Floral Butterfly. Although the name says Nordic, I think this card feels like springtime. I don’t care what season it is – I love all the Nordic products!
And speaking of Nordic, I started this card with the Nordic Floral Plate. I cut a panel of white cardstock with it and popped out all of the cutout pieces. I then glued the white panel onto a piece of light pink glitter cardstock. I took some of the white cutout pieces and glued them back into the center of the openings. I love how versatile this die is!

Next, I started cutting the pieces for my butterfly. I cut the largest pieces from the new Golden Wheat paper from Memory Box. I love this color of yellow. I then cut the other two layers from two shades of pink cardstock. I glued the pieces together only in the center. I love the dimension this gives, where each layer is lifted. I did add small pieces of paper to the back of the yellow layer and the innermost pink layer, right behind where those flower cutouts are. This allowed me to then glue the little flower details into those areas. I glued the bottom of the butterfly to the card base, and then I popped the top of the butterfly up on foam squares. I cut the body of the butterfly from black glossy cardstock.

For the sentiment, I chose the Freestyle Hello die. This comes with a shadow layer, which I did not use for this card. I cut the word from black glossy card stock, which is my go-to for word dies. I layered it onto another layer that I had cut from white cardstock, and then I glued it to my panel.

That is it for my card today. I hope it brings a smile to your face. Thanks so much for joining us today.

Hi Allison, A lovely and colourful card, to me it has an element of ‘steampunk’ about it too, I love it.
