Flowers and Stripes!
by Sphoorti

Hello Poppy Peeps!
It’s Sphoorti here, and today I’ve got a double treat for you! Inspired by the fabulous Laura Bassen, I decided to “strip it up”, as she puts it, with some colorful card panels. For both of these cards, I cut out a bunch of vibrant strips and adhered them adjacently to create a thick stripe to add some interest to the background.
If you’re following me on Instagram (@stampallthethings and @lettersandlaughter), you might know that I’m a huge fan of wax seals—I’ve been obsessed for years. I took a little break when I ran out of ideas, but the moment I saw PoppyStamps’ Vase Easel die, I was back at it, like an 80’s kid who just rediscovered their Nintendo 64!
For my first card, I played around with glitter, foil, and regular cardstock to create a mix of strips. I then added the bouquet die from the Easel die set, which I distress inked in various shades of green. To give it a little extra sparkle, I used a sticky glue pen to dab some glue around the bouquet and, once it dried, added a touch of foil for a shimmering finish. I topped it off with a vellum wax seal
For the second card, I used random colors of strips, and instead of a distress inked die cut, I used silver foil cardstock to cut the bouquet. I distress inked some flowers and adhered them at various areas of the bouquet. I topped this bouquet off with a clear wax seal that I sprinkled glitter on, and foiled little dots around it with the Quickie glue pen. For the sentiments, I used some foiled ones from the Modest Greetings set and that was it!
What do you think? Which of these did you like the most? Please do let me know in the comments below, we all love hearing from you!
Love,
Sphoorti
