Nordic Spectacular Butterfly Birthday Card

I hope you love the new spring release that we’re calling Scandinavian Spring. The designs are perfect for Spring and Easter greetings and many of them are layered folk art inspired designs. I love them all, but the Nordic Spectacular Butterfly just steals the show for me!
This card has a whole lot of gold going on starting with the background papers from our parent company Memory Box. The 6″ Pads I used are Anemone Grove (florals) and Anemone Plaid (plaids). The papers are color coordinated to make them easy to mix and match and many have gold foil accents.
The Nordic Spectacular Butterfly is cut from colors that I picked up from the background papers. To create a focal point I cut the Nordic Pattern Rings from white paper. Solids are a great way to break up prints that can make a design look busy.
The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is also available from Memory Box – there are several packs to choose from – white or black chipboard with gold embossed sentiments in label strips or circles. Each pack has a zip top so you can store them easily. They’re great for adding a quick sentiment to finish off your designs. There’s also new cardstock pads in four color choices. These are solid color core cardstocks that are vibrant and selected for layering.
You can easily switch up this design to coordinate with any pattern papers that you have on hand. You can also switch to solid cardstock papers that will give this card a whole new feel. The addition of pretty papers makes your design less like a graphic design and more like a printshop greeting card. Have fun experimenting with different supplies and watch your creativity take flight!
