Love Birds

Birgit here with you today with an anniversary card featuring some of the newest products available in the store right now.
My card is an anniversary card but it could also be used for Valentine’s day, which is right around the corner. I started by cutting the largest of the Scallop Pinpoint Hearts out of white cardstock. I brushed on just a bit of Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Ink around the edges.
I cut the Nordic Bird Bunch out of white cardstock as well and colored them using Copic Markers. I wanted a mottled look so after coloring each piece with the darkest color, I went over it again with the lightest tone, which leaves this natural mottled look.
I assembled the heart and birds using liquid glue and adhered them over a panel of paper from the Anemone Grove 6×6 paper pad. The colors and designs in this paper pad are so beautiful! To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Banners and die cut it using the coordinating banner die. Even though this is labeled as a Christmas set, some of the sentiments can be used for other occasions. I stamped the inside of the card with the words “Wishing you both a Happy Anniversary”. I think it works perfectly for an anniversary card!

I sure am loving all the Nordic dies from Poppystamps lately and these birds are no exception Birgit…you’ve colored them beautifully and they look fabulous against the light pink heart! Love that dsp you used for the background too! Lovely, lovely anniversary card!! :0)
Hi Birgit, I love this card, the cute birdies and the hearts are so beautiful, this would be a fantastic card for my hubby as his Birthday is on Valentine’s Day.

Absolute sweetness, Birgit! I love all things bird, and they’re especially cute with the Nordic twist. I have ordered the sentiment set, but everything is taking so long to get here because of the weather.
The birds are so sweet and I love the scallop on the heart, pretty flowery paper to go with them!
