Winter Greetings
by Tricia Barber

Hello! I am sharing a wintery greeting todeay using the Whittle Forest Reindeer Kit along with the Scalloped Stitch Frames. I used a combination of ink blending and Copic coloring to color up my die cuts today. I started by die cutting all the images from the Whittle Forest Reindeer Kit from white cardstock. I then ink blended the trees with several different green and blue die inks. I used the negative die cut and left the images in the die cut panel and did some quick ink blending on top of the panel. This really makes for some quick blending! I then splattered all the trees with white paint and set them aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the images.

I did not have a plan yet for what I would use on my card panel so I decided to color all the deer using my Copic markers. I used the same method as I had with the trees. I left each of the deer die cuts in the negative panel and did some quick Copic ink coloring with E30, E31, E33, E34 and E35. I used R20 for the ears. I did a double layer of die cuts for the deer’s head to add the antlers. I used foam tape to pop up the heads from the bodies. This gave a little bit of dimension to the deer. I ended up only using two of the deer images from the die set, saving the others to use for another project. I used a thin brown Sharpie pen to outline each of the eyes.

For the card panel, I die cut the largest frame from the Scalloped Stitch Frames die. I then ink blended with some light blue ink onto the main card base, careful not to go beyond the frame. I popped up the frame on the card base. I added the trees and the deer bodies with some liquid adhesive. The sentiment was stamped and die cut using the Christmas Banners stamp and die set. I popped the red sentiment strip up with foam adhesive. To finish off the card, I added some fairy jewels to the noses! I think it turned out so cute!
