Clean and Simple, Nordic Deer
by Birgit Norton

As the deadline draws near for creating and mailing out Christmas cards, I thought I’d inspire you with a quick and easy Clean and Simple card, featuring the beautiful Nordic Deer.

I started by cutting the Scandinavian Snowflake Plate out of white cardstock and laying it over piece of blue Vintage Pastel Mirror Cardstock.

I then cut the Nordic Deer out of Kraft cardstock and cutting the detail dies out of soft blue and gold mirror cardstock. I colored the deer’s body using a brown Copic Marker and colored the back legs a shade darker, and then glued the deer together as shown, using the gold detail behind his pretty blue sweater.

I used the Lavish Merry Christmas die to create the sentiment, using the same soft blue cardstock for the sentiment and white cardstock for the background.

To soften the background and provide a focal point for the deer and sentiment, I added a vellum panel cut using a Scalloped Stitched Frame die and mounted it to the center of the snowflake background. I popped the deer up using foam tape to add a bit of dimension.

I hope you’ll find today’s card inspiring, and hopefully setting a peacefulness in your heart for the beauty of the season that is upon us.

I like how you used the vellum in the background, such pretty details on the deer, the gold touches are nice!
