Birthday Pets

I needed a birthday card for a pet-lover – so it wasn’t hard to go with the Whittle Scottie, Whittle Dachshund and Whittle Cat! And I love the playful(!) look of the Playful Happy Birthday.

I liked the way everything fit on a mini slimline (I used 3″x6″). I used the 1″ wide Cornelia Variegated Washi tape to give my three pets a field of flowers to romp in.  Then I grounded them with a stripe from Memory Box Garland Stripes and Dots. I also wanted a little sparkle, so I dressed the pets up with a thin strip of white for a collar and a pretty gem for each of them!  I pulled the bright green gem from the Bright Jewels pack and the other two from the Pastel Jewels.

I layered up the “happy birthday” three times so it popped from the background.  It’s such a fun font and such a perfect combination with the sweet little pets!

I love designing cards specifically for someone. My friend adores her cats and dogs and the Whittles are truly charming.  And I was able to keep the card fun, yet feminine with the flowers and the bling.  It’s perfect!
