Mistletoe Hugs

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and that the holiday spirit stays with you throughout the coming year!  I know you’ve been really nice, so you’re probably going to have to send a few thank you’s  for the gifts you’ve received! 

I wanted to incorporate the colors of the season (reds and greens) and some holiday foliage (mistletoe) on this holiday thank you card.   My favorite way to thank someone is with a big hug.  That’s probably because sometimes I just can’t find the right words to express how I feel when someone does something nice for me. 

This card starts with a color block background. I simply divided the cover size of my card (5.5″ less 1/4 inch for the border = 5.25″) by 5 (the amount of colors I wanted to use) and came up with 1.05 – so I cut the strips a little bigger than 1″.  I taped the strips together on their reverse side and then trimmed the panel to fit my card front. 

 I cut the Holiday Mistletoe from white card stock and adhered one along the top and one along the bottom of the card.  A big LUSCIOUS hugs is adhered right in the middle of the card.  I cut the outline die from gold glitter paper because I just can’t resist a little sparkle. 

You can see how nice and flat this card is – that makes it easy to mail with no extra postage!    The stamped sentiment is from a retired set.. maybe you have it – called “Sentiments of Love”.
