Thanks, You Are The Best
by Dana Kirby

Good Morning Friends! I hope you all are doing well. I am excited to be back with you all today to share a Thank You card. I am always needing a thank you card… so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get one made and hopefully share a little inspiration too. Let’s get started, shall we?

I started my card by creating my background. I used the Fractal Diamond Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Black Soot. I sprayed the back of my stencil with Pixie Spray to hold it in place, and applied my ink directly onto my stencil and card panel in an even motion. I just love the detail of this stencil!

I set my background aside and began working on my Thanks layered sentiment. I began by glueing .25 inch strips onto a piece of thin copy paper in rainbow order.

Next, I ran the strips through my die cutting machine with the Thanks Outline shadow die.

Using the same Thanks Outline Die, I ran the top layer through my die cutting machine with white and black cardstock. I attached the two letters together, offsetting the black letter behind the white to create a shadow. Although the black shadow is a subtle detail, I think it helps my letters stand out a little more.

For my sentiment, I stamped You Are The Best from the You Are Awesome Stamp Set onto a black banner. I then added and heat set it with white embossing powder. This is such a great stamp set, it has the perfect sentiment for so many occasions.

To finish my card, I trimmed down my ink blended card panel and attached it to an A2 card base. Lastly, I attached my Thanks and sentiment banner to my card front with foam adhesive.

Thanks for joining me today! I will be back soon to share another project with you all.

Enjoy your day,

  1. Hi Dana, Wow !! I love how you have created the rainbow strips and then die-cutting the ‘thanks’ and then shadowing with the black and then the smaller ‘thanks’ on top, how very effective this is, I really love this card.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
