You Spin Me Round
by Sue McRae

Hello crafty friends! Sue here with a Whittle critter card that can be spun around by the recipient!

I took a few of the Whittle animals and die cut them from scraps of alcohol ink card stock.

To make the circle mechanism I die cut the Concentric Rings in colours to match the animals (except for the purple) and I die cut a circle from white card stock that is slightly smaller than the purple ring.

I adhered the coloured rings onto the white circle and die cut another white circle that is smaller than the rainbow rings. I poked a hole through the centre of both.

The small white circle has to be large enough to have a brad poke through and to have 4 foam squares adhered around the edge of the circle without touching the brad. This is how the coloured rings will spin. I placed the brad through the top of the coloured circle and into the small white circle with the foam on the back side of the white circle.

Then I took the animals and adhered them to the back of the colored circle making sure they don’t touch the small white circle or else it won’t be able to spin.

Now I have my spinning animal wheel.

I cut a 4.5″ square white card stock and scored random lines onto it. I attached this to my card base then removed the liners from the foam squares on the back of the animal circle and adhered it to the centre of the scored panel. Now the wheel can spin.

For the sentiments I white heat embossed a few from the Whittle Love stamp set and adhered them flat so they wouldn’t interfere with the animals spinning.

This was a fun card to make and is not difficult to create. You would cut down on the steps if you used a solid coloured circle instead of a rainbow one.

My card is perfect to enter for the monthly challenge, Animal Menagerie, here. Don’t forget to play along, you have until the end of February!

Thanks for visiting with me today and happy crafting!
