There is Magic in the Night

Hi Friends! It is Dana here today and I am happy to be back sharing a Fall card with all of you.

I started my card by die cutting the Pumpkin Patch Sidekick Frame from moss green cardstock. Isn’t this frame Gorgeous? I love all the details!

I then used the coordinating stencil and ink blended Distress Oxide Ink in Spiced Marmalade over the pumpkins. I love how the Sidekick Frames include a stencil, it really adds to the possibilities of the die and makes it super easy to add another color or layer to your frame. 

While the Distress Oxide Ink was still tacky I added clear embossing powder to the pumpkins. I then heat set the clear embossing powder. This gives the pumpkins a little extra shine and added detail. Although it is hard to photograph the shine on the pumpkins, this extra step is really worth it in my opinion.

Next, I began creating my background (night sky). I used Distress Oxide Ink in Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves and Distress Ink in Black Soot. I used a blending sponge and ink blend the colors onto Bristol smooth cardstock. Once I was finished I spritzed my background with water and let it dry.

I decided I wanted my frames to be kraft on my final card design. So I die cut the Pumpkin Patch Sidekick Frame from kraft cardstock. I then trimmed away all of the pumpkins and vines. Next, I laid the kraft frame over the moss green die cut and attached the two frames with a little liquid glue to my ink blended background.

To finish my card I stamped my sentiment from the Pumpkin Patch Stamp Set onto my rectangle. I ink blended a little Orange Marmalade ink around the edges and inlaid it back into my frame to finish my card.
