Today’s prize that’s being given away is this…

The Whittle Birds.

Aren’t they just so sweet?

As you can see, I’ve gone Monochrome today…  with just a touch of grey in the sentiment to soften things up a bit.

Want to know how this was made?

I’ve started off by making a partial background from the new Picnic Plaid clear stamp set.

I’ve used my stamp just as pictured…

Ink directly on to the stamp.  Use a baby wipe to clean and soften the edges of the inked shape.  Place card on top of stamp (carefully aligning with a straight edge) and use a brayer to apply pressure over the card and transfer the image.

Next, I’ve cut out the dies I will need.

To add definition, I’ve added layers to the frame and both sizes of birds.

Stamp on the sentiment, as close to the edge as you can.  I’ve chosen to heat emboss mine.

Then arrange the mini scene and glue everything in to place as shown.

Once dry, I’ve cut another piece of card that’s slightly wider than my card base and glued the two together to create an additional layer of visual interest.

Then I’ve sprayed on clear varnish to protect the card…

…  and added on a few hearts (cut from the Big Donut craft die).

Don’t forget, the Blog Blitz finishes at midnight on March 17th, US EST.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
