Poinsettia Mini
by Michele K. Henderson

Hello Everybody!

We hope you are all enjoying our Holiday Blog Blitz and are finding beautiful ideas and inspiration along the way! Today, I am sharing a card that I have created with the beautiful Poinsettia Mini! Take a look!

I began with a completely different idea, but let the card take the shape of its own, and I love the final result! I began by cutting out seven tiny Poinsettia Mini pieces out of shiny, red foil paper, and set them aside. Originally I had planned to add a lot of snowflakes and fairies, but then I thought about a Christmas greenhouse, warm and balmy and filled with poinsettias! Native to Mexico, the poinsettia carries symbolic religious meaning in many countries. Did you know that in the United States, December 12 is National Poinsettia Day?

I used a handful of my favorite Poppystamps dies to create this sparkly card, and they all cut so well through thicker foil and glitter papers. I curled the leaves upward to add dimension, and mounted the tiny poinsettias with tiny bits of foam pop dots to raise them off the page just a touch. The centers are tiny silver pearls.

Our Blog Blitz runs from November 20 -30, so make sure you leave a comment on every day that you’d like to win! Today’s prize is the Poinsettia Mini!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

  5. WoW!! Your card is gorgeous. I love that it is not a traditional Christmas card! The Alessa Collage is perfect, it provides visual interest and texture. Love the Mini Poinsettias, they are my favourite Christmas flower. The tiny Cardinals are the perfect embellishment on this card. I have the Tulisa collage die and I could use that, I need the Atessa Collage die too. I did not know that December 12 is National Poinsettia Day, I will make something to celebrate it. Thank you for sharing this inspiring, gorgeous, unique card today.

  10. Awesome sparkle and shine. I really like the little poinsettias. Glad to hear the dies all cut through the thicker glitter cardstock. There are some brands (well known) that need many passes to cut through.
