Winter Wish

Jeanne here today! You know I love color and color blocking is one of my favorite techniques. Adding bold colors creates clean lines and wonderful contrast to your projects. For this card I selected three shades of blue for a winter scene.
The trio of dies I used today are beautiful individually, but so stunning when stacked together!
I cut the Sloping Hillside from the medium shade of blue. This will be the bottom layer of my card that is adhered to the card base. You will notice with each layer I cut the outside edges slightly smaller so that each layer of color is also revealed along the outer edges of the card.
Next I cut the Snowscape from the darkest shade of blue. I placed the snowy cut out behind the Sloping Hillside die cut and adhered it to the base of the card. I trimmed the frame that was left behind slightly smaller than the light blue and adhered it to the card base.
The last layer cut from the lightest shade of card stock is the Open Hillside. Again I trimmed the outer edges to make a slightly smaller frame for an ombre effect inside and outside the die cut images.
To complete the scene I added a Bashful Fawn and the sentiment "wish" in white card stock.

Beautiful winter scene card, Jeanne! I love Christmas, this year my cards are going to be a winter scene. Your card is inspiring me to get started on my cards. I am waiting for dies to arrive. I especially like the edges of the coloured paper showing, it adds dimension. I will use this technique in the future.
