Powell Butterfly Hello

Jeanne here today! I sure hope you’re having a great day! I’ve got a fun card to share using only 2 dies (one image and one sentiment), some string, and some enamel dots. It’s an easy way to create a background and you can try this technique with dies you already have in your collection!
I cut the Powell Butterfly several times from white card stock. I adhered the butterflies to a piece of aqua card stock using a precision tip applicator. I adhered a few at a time using an acrylic block to keep the die cuts flat as they dried.
You can trim the excess from the dies as they dry reserving the cut off portions to use on other areas of the panel. When you’re done you’ll have a pretty lace look panel perfect for embellishing.
You won’t want to cover up all your handiwork.. it’s too beautiful so simple is best here. I die cut the Big Luxe Hello die three times – once from gold foil, and twice from white card stock. I adhered the three die cuts together in a stack to make the word die more durable and easier to work with.
Next I wrapped some gold string around my fingers in a circle several times. I adhered the Big Luxe Hello word die over the string to hold it in place.
I added gold giltter enamel dots around the focal point to draw your eyes back to the gold script sentiment.
I hope you’ll give this background technique a try. It’s a great way to stretch your dies and you probably already have everything you need to make this! Have a beautiful day!
