Peeking Through the Leafy Frame

Hi, Sue here today! Have you been amazed by all the creative projects during the blog blitz? I know I have!

When I saw the Leafy Frame Die and Kitty Cat Face Die, I knew I wanted to pair them to create a little spooky scene with the kitty peaking out amidst a dark background.

I inked up by background with Distress Inks in different shades of blue and flicked and sprayed some Perfect Pearls on top.

I added double sided adhesive to card stock and die cut the cat face from it. I temporarily placed the negative piece on the background and glued the cat face die cuts back into place (like a puzzle) and removed the negative piece. I took off the backing paper from the face pieces and used gilding flakes (metal foil) on the exposed adhesive.

I cut two pieces of the Leafy Frame. One out of black vellum and one from gray card stock and layered them with foam tape for added depth.

I made another card, this time using gold gilding flakes. I die cut two Leafy Frames again, this time from gold and gray card stock and I offset the frames slightly so the gold frame would be more visible.

I love how these cards turned out. I think for my next one I'll use some black fun flock for the cat.

For your chance to win the Leafy Frame, please leave a comment on this post.

I’m really loving all the die image combinations of positive/negative spaces with embossed areas thrown in…all in one die. It is a very classy look.
