Wishing You A Happy Day

Have you been playing along?  This Blog Blitz has been such fun to watch.  Seeing all the beautiful cards made with absolutely gorgeous dies.  I had fun creating this little card, which was created around these cute little Puddle Jumpers!  Which by the way, is what I've picked to gift to one lucky person.  By now you probably know the rules, but I'll briefly remind you…..comment by April 28 and you could be the winner, winner, winner!  Pretty easy!  There will be two posts per day, which makes your chances of winning even better!

The design of this card has been bumping around in my brain since the first day I saw the new dies.  As you probably know, California is in the middle of an awful drought….so, I guess I and thousands of others are constantly thinking rain!  Well, what goes best with rain?  Your right….Umbrellas, boots and boys and girls playing in the rain.  Aren't the Puddle Jumpers just the cutest and the Stitched Umbrellas couldn't be more perfect.  I added a fence, some grass and flowers and this card was finished.

Would you like to see my work area?  Excuse the little snowman, He's been under glass on my workspace for months.  I guess you could say he's my little helper….

Here's how I put the card together.  I used an embossing folder to create the blue flowered background, which I glued to a white card base.  Next I die cut 3 silver Stitched Umbrellas and then cut one each of yellow, green and pink.  I cut the top and the handle from each and glued them to the silver umbrella.  I pop dotted them to the blue background.  Then I cut the Picket Fence and using pop dots stuck the fence in place.  I then cut the Brighton Flower Border 4 times, once each in green blue yellow and pink and I started growing my flower garden.  I added 3 layers of grass and it was time to place the boots.  I made them pink, because what little girl wouldn't like pink boots.  To the centers of each flower I added little pieces of blue bling.  I stood back and thought I just might need a Sentiment, so to my computer I ran, and created the sentiment, to which I added a punched glittery butterfly.  This card really was easy to make and the dies cut and release so quickly it made everything go even faster.

My cards aren't finished until the inside is decorated….so….here's the inside….

I repeated dies used on the front of the card.  There were pieces left, so I only had to cut another pink umbrella and add the computer sentiment which I cut using the Studio Rectangle Layers and this card is finished.

I hope you've enjoyed my little creation.  I surely enjoyed creating it.  Don't forget….comment for a chance to win these cute little Puddle Jumpers.

Until next time, take time to feel the warmth of the sun upon your face and have a very creative week!

Hugs,
