Tea of Love

The new release blog blitz is in full swing!  My card today features the Love Word Balloon, and if you leave a comment, you could win this very versatile die.  The sentiment is so perfect when snipped out, or you can make even a teapot say “Love”!!

I cut two pieces of card stock that fit together to form a second layer on top of the card base.  I embossed one piece, and used Victoria Velvet direct to the design to highlight the embossing.  I sponged Shabby Shutters distress ink through the Memory Box Mini Dots stencil on the other piece.  I adhered this piece over the top of the embossed piece, and added a length of ribbon over the area where they intersected.  I then added this to the card base with foam tape.

I cut two of the teapot, one from cream cardstock and the other from dark green, the lid and saucer from the dark green, and the cup from the cream.  I stenciled Victoria Velvet and Peeled Paint distress inks through the Adornment stencil onto the cream teapot and teacup, then cut just the body from the teapot.  I used Versamark Ink on all of the pieces and embossed with clear powder to give it a “ceramic” look.  I then adhered the stenciled piece to the green teapot, and using foam tape, adhered the teacup to the saucer.

I die cut two each of the Heartland Oval Frame and Heart Stack and separated out all of the various hearts from the die cuts.  I inked all of the hearts with Victoria Velvet, and covered them with a clear glitter brush.  I cut the Love Word Balloon from cream and inked that with Victoria Velvet as well, adding the clear glitter brush over that piece.

I cut the smallest tag from the General Store Tags, added a rub-on “you” and one of the hearts, and tied it to the teapot handle. 

I adhered a few of the hearts on the backs of the teapot and teacup so that they would peak out the top, adhered the teapot and cup to the front with foam tape, and then adhered the Love Word Balloon, positioning it as shown.  I added a few more of the hearts to the card just behind the ones adhered to the teapot and cup to make it look a little fuller.  Then of course there is a bit of bling!
