Nutty as a Squirrel

Give this bright card a little shake and watch the sparkly sequins and charming squirrels zip around like . . . well, SQUIRRELS! Shaker cards are a fun trend we'll be seeing a lot more of in 2015, and thanks to all these new, adorable and detailed Poppystamps dies, creating one is easier than ever!

I used the new Grendon Wreath to highlight the shaker circle. I love the little acorn on the bottom which gives it a wonderful woodsy feel. If you are already a shaker fan, then you probably have a few tips and tricks up your sleeve to make your own. For this card, I used a small piece of a clear ink jet computer-printable transparent plastic sheet, which is nice and stiff and easy to use. But any kind of clear plastic film material will work for your shaker window. Tiny Frisky Squirrels and blue sequins zip aroud the inside of the shaker pocket in a crazy frenzy! I think I was inspired by so many squirrels darting through the trees out my craft room window this time of year!
